The mountain is a wonderful environment but requires respect and preparation. To fully enjoy your experience and contribute to everyone's safety and well-being, we invite you to follow these recommendations:
Choose a route suitable for your level of experience and that of your companions. Consult weather forecasts and do not underestimate rapid weather changes in the mountains. Inform yourself about the characteristics of the trail, its length, elevation gain/loss, and the presence of any exposed sections. Communicate your itinerary and expected time of return to someone.
If you plan to stay overnight, book the mountain hut well in advance, especially during peak season. Inform yourself about the services offered by the mountain hut (beds, meals, showers, etc.). Ask for information about any specific needs (allergies, particular diets).
Wear hiking boots suitable for the type of terrain. Dress in layers to adapt to temperature variations. Bring spare clothing, waterproofs, a hat, gloves, and sunscreen. Don't forget enough water, food, a map, compass or GPS, and a first aid kit. Prepare a sleeping bag liner (mandatory for sleeping in mountain huts) or bring your own sleeping bag. In case of snow, consider using microspikes/crampons and gaiters. Bring a headlamp. Bring a trash bag and carry your waste back down to the valley.
Stay on marked trails so as not to damage the flora and fauna. Do not leave trash in the mountains. Observe nature without disturbing it.
Pay attention to the terrain, which can be uneven and slippery. Respect your limits and do not overexert yourself. Take regular breaks to rest and hydrate.
Arrive at the mountain hut at a suitable time (generally by 6:30 PM). Respect the rest of other guests, avoiding disturbing noise after approximately 10:00 PM. Follow the instructions of the mountain hut manager. Use water sparingly.
