The pocket-sized passport is personalized and can be collected and activated before embarking on the Eastern Orobie Loop Trail at the Vivi Ardesio office and at the Minuscoli bakery (via Locatelli 40, Ardesio) and the Bigoni pastry shop (via Duca d’Aosta 7, Ardesio). Starting Point: Parking in Valcanale (987 m a.s.l.) Start: The route generally begins from the parking area near the small lake of Valcanale.Initially, you follow the asphalt road that goes uphill. This part has a gradient that can reach up to 7%.After a section on asphalt, you reach the start of the actual trail, where you will find signs (approximately 750 meters from the parking). There might also be some parking possibilities here, but limited. Trail: Here begins the main part of trail CAI 220, which leads to the hut. It is a comfortable mule track with a rather steep start, with gradients that can exceed 20% in some points.The route is constantly uphill, but the gradient varies. Steeper sections alternate with more moderate sections.In some parts, you may encounter small bridges.The trail mainly develops within the woods. Arrival: Shortly before the hut, the trail exits the woods and may present a final climb with a significant gradient.The final section towards the hut is generally described as well-made and easy.You finally arrive at Rifugio Alpe Corte (1410 m a.s.l.).
Use of the Ski Lifts in Colere for Rifugio Albani In Colere, it is possible to significantly shorten the ascent to Rifugio Albani by using the ski lifts. This option is particularly suitable for families with small children or for those who are not very trained in hiking. Route with the Lifts: Departure: You start from the valley station of the ski lifts in Colere (Carbonera hamlet).Ski Lifts: You use the chairlift that goes up from Colere to Cima Bianca (this lift may have different names, so it is a good idea to ask for confirmation at the ticket office).Arrival at Cima Bianca: Once you arrive at Cima Bianca, you have already gained a large part of the elevation.Trail from Cima Bianca to Rifugio Albani: From Cima Bianca, you follow a trail (generally marked) in the direction of Rifugio Albani. This trail is much shorter and with much less elevation gain compared to the ascent from the valley. The trail is described as easy and suitable even for children. Useful Information: Elevation Gain/Loss: The elevation gain from Cima Bianca to the hut is approximately 180-185 meters. Estimated Time: The travel time from the arrival point of the chairlift to the hut is short, therefore significantly less than the 2-3 hours needed for the ascent on foot from the valley. Cost: The cost of ascending with the chairlift is variable. It is advisable to check the updated prices at the lift ticket office. Accessibility: This option makes Rifugio Albani accessible to those who normally couldn't reach it on foot, such as young children or people with mobility difficulties. Caution: Even though the trail from Cima Bianca is easy, it is always wise to wear appropriate mountain footwear and bring water and sun protection with you. The weather in the mountains can change rapidly. Tips: Before you go, it is always a good idea to check the opening hours and prices of the ski lifts. Call the hut to check for availability, especially if you plan to stay overnight.
How to Reach Rifugio Vodala Rifugio Vodala, located at approximately 1650 meters above sea level, offers various options for reaching it, suitable for different levels of experience and preferences.Common Starting Point: Spiazzi di Gromo (BG)How to Get to Spiazzi di Gromo: To get to Spiazzi di Gromo, you generally pass through Gromo and then continue until you reach Piazzale Avert, where the parking area is located.Options for Reaching the Hut:On Foot from Spiazzi di Gromo: There are several trails that start from Spiazzi di Gromo and lead to the hut. The most common options include: Sentiero degli Alpini: A primarily pedestrian trail, with a duration of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Sentiero delle Malghe: A longer route (approximately 2 hours) that passes via Monte Avert and several huts (Baita del Dosso, Baita Avert, Baita della Costa). Sentiero Giallo (Yellow Trail): A well-marked trail that offers panoramic views and passes near a large rock with a statue of the Madonna. Common Characteristics of the Trails: Elevation gain of approximately 450 meters. Alpine landscape with pastures, huts, and views of the Orobie peaks (Pizzo Redorta, Pizzo del Diavolo di Tenda, Presolana). Difficulty generally classified as "hiking". The travel time varies depending on the chosen trail and your pace. Following the Ski Slopes: It is possible to ascend to the hut by following the ski slopes. This can be suitable when the slopes are not being used for skiing. Using the Chairlift: Rifugio Vodala is adjacent to the arrival station of the chairlift that departs from Spiazzi di Gromo. This is the easiest and fastest option, ideal for those who don't want to exert themselves or for families with children. It is important to check the opening hours and costs of the chairlift. Spiazzi di Gromo is a tourist area with various outdoor activities.
How to Reach Rifugio Campel in Lizzola di Valbondione Rifugio Campel is located at an altitude of 1,500 meters in Lizzola di Valbondione, nestled among ski slopes and pastures. It can be reached both on foot and by chairlift.Starting Point: Lizzola di Valbondione (BG), specifically the square near the chairlift station and the cemetery. This parking area is located on Via Onorevole T. Pacati. Options for Reaching the Hut:On Foot: The uphill trail starts near the chairlift station (behind or to the side).You can follow the agricultural-forestry-pastoral road or, in some cases, the ski slope.Trail characteristics: Easy, suitable even for non-hikers. Dirt road (agricultural-forestry-pastoral). Elevation gain of approximately 200-250 meters. Length of approximately 1.5 km. Uphill travel time: approximately 30-40 minutes. The trail can be a bit steep in some sections. In Winter: Accessible also in winter with snowshoes, skis, or crampons (always evaluate snow conditions).By Chairlift: It is possible to use the chairlift of the Nuova Lizzola ski area. The "panoramic trail" is the common name for an important section of this trail, offering breathtaking views, but also requiring a minimum of effort.Starting Point:Valbondione (940 m a.s.l.) It is advisable to park at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Valbondione (paid parking).It is possible to try and park closer to the start of the trail, but spaces are limited.General Characteristics of the Trail: CAI Trail 305: This is the main and well-marked trail leading to the hut. Elevation Gain: The ascent has an elevation gain of approximately 965 meters. Length: The trail is about 6.5 km long. Estimated Time: The duration of the ascent is about 3 hours (average time for a hiker). Difficulty: The trail is classified as "E" (Hiking), which means it is accessible to those with a minimum of experience in mountain walking. The walk from Rifugio Campel to Rifugio Due Baite is short and quite easy. Elevation gain of the walk from Campel: Approximately 150 meters (short and not steep). To reach the plant, follow the signs from Valgolio. Trail: Take trail CAI 232. The trail starts to the left of the hydroelectric plant, crossing a small concrete bridge under which the Goglio stream flows.Route Description: The trail mainly stays on the orographic left side first of Valle del Goglio and then of Val Sanguigno. It is a comfortable trail that ascends with a moderate gradient, alternating between slightly uphill sections and more decisive ones. It follows the stream, crossing rivulets and enjoying the beauty of the valley. In some points, there are protections towards the stream.Duration: Approximately 1 hour (one-way). Elevation Gain: Approximately 400 meters. Difficulty: Hiking (E), generally considered medium-easy. Ascent to Rifugio Gianpace from Novazza: Starting Point: Novazza (a hamlet of Valgoglio). It is advisable to follow the road from Novazza to the former mines, where you can park your car.
